I have this old Grateful Dead t-shirt that was given to me by my father. It is a Liquid Blue shirt that on the front has the "Steal your face" Logo, with Paradise on top and Waits on the bottom. Below that are 5 skeletons dancing. On the back the words are "without love in the dream it will never come true" with the 5 skeletons below that. This was given to me by my dad almost 10 years ago, and I know he had it much longer than that. Considering it was from when he was about 50 pounds lighter. My issue is that the shirt is falling apart now, and I want to give my dad a present. I contacted liquidblue and they state that they never made this shirt. I suspect it is so old they just don't have the pattern anymore.

I would like to somehow get this shirt remade and get 2 of them, one for me and one for my father. This statement on the back of the shirt has sort of become a personal motto for me, and I have my father to thank for that. So if anyone can help me, I would appreciate this.

Subject: God I hate Travelling
Security: Public

So it’s Passover time, thus I am heading home to Baltimore for the 2 Seders. So I arrive at the airport about 2 and a half hours ahead of time and go to the park and save. Now I didn’t realize just how far away the park and save actually is….it is a good 20 minutes away from the airport, in the middle of nowhere…..and I even saw a gunrack on a volkswagon. I didn’t think I had traveled that deep into redneck country, but apparently…I DID!

Then I get to the airport, and boy oh boy, that’s where the fun starts. You see security really just SUCKS, I have travelled before with a knife in my carryons that I just forgot, and this is post 9-11. So today I go up to security, take my belt off, and anything that would set off the machine. I leave my watch and necklace on because well, they have never set off the machine, Silver and Titanium, the metal detector doesn’t actually catch that….GREAT! So I’m walking through the machine and well BAM! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP…..”Sir did you forget any metal objects?” Cue me taking off the watch and necklace, Walk through again! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP…”Sir I need you to step over here”….GREAT! So I go into the screening area, and the Guard has me sit down, checks the bottom of my feet, and begins to wand me. Goes over me 4 fucking times with the wand, trying to find out what the hell could be setting off the machine, the only possibility is my zipper, but the wand never goes off over my zipper. Then the patdowns begin….OH JOY! Nothing I love better than getting patted down. In the end, the security guard has no fucking clue what set off the machine, sends me on my way, and then I get questioned by all the other TSA guards on what actually set it off. I feel GREAT now!

Subject: Naples....

Naples I have to say has been quite fun, as the last night I shall spend here is wrapping up, I have come to some realizations...specifically....as nice as hotels are...they fucking suck. Every time I stay at a hotel I can't wait to get back to my own bed, or even the floor....something about hotels makes it so I am actually unable to sleep well. I'm really not sure, but it pisses me off. I keep hoping that one day I'll find that hotel that well....makes me go DAMN I gotta come here more often so I can sleep well. In truth, I got my best sleep out by the pool and out on the beach.

For anyone who does ever come out to Naples, be sure to visit the Naples Zoo....totally worth it. two great attractions to see are Leopard Rock and the Monkey Island tour.

Leopard Rock....kinda self explanatory, except....well you are about 1 inch from the Leopards if they come up to the glass. Seriously....when you approach, the Leopards usually come up to the glass out of curiosity, and then you are only separated by 1 inch of glass. It's kinda cool actually.

Leopard

Monkey Island....well that's basically a boat tour of a small group of islands, and on each island is a different grouping of primates. Starting with Gibbons, then going to Spider monkeys, then Lemurs, and more Lemurs, and then more Spider monkeys, and well you get the idea. The greatest thing about it is that well....you could be as few as 10 feet from the monkeys, with no cages/glass to inhibit your viewing pleasures. These monkeys also seem a shitload happier, can't explain HOW it seems like such...but it just does.

So I got my new computer, SWEET! Macbook Pro goodness, the only issue is that when they installed the new hard drive they slightly bent the case. No real issue, a simple trip to work will get it fixed. Seriously it's a great computer. Of course I had to take the obligatory picture of myself with the built in webcam.

So yesterday I was at Gumbo Limbo, and it brought back alot of memories. You see I've been going there for years now. My first memory of Gumbo Limbo was when I was 5 years old. We went there, and there was this Florida King Snake in a cage named "Pretzel." I asked to hold him, and I was rewarded with having him wrapped around me and my neck. My parents have a picture of me just glowing. Every year I would go back and see Pretzel, up until I was 8 or 9. Then I was told some sad news, Pretzel had been sent away.
He was too old and needed special care.

They replaced Pretzel with Onyx, who was an Indigo Snake. I used to hold her as well, but she never had the same magic as Pretzel. Eventually Onyx left, and now they have a decent amount of "Rat Snakes" and one King snake, but unfortunatly, the King snake is old and senile so no one can hold him. For the past 4 years or so, I've wanted to hold a King Snake again, and never could. Yesterday, that's a different story, I went in, and decided to ask Debbie (person in charge of the volunteer's) when they were going
to get another King Snake. To my surprise, she said that they just got one, and it's a couple months old. Of course I immediately asked to hold it. Debbie said I could, took me in to where they were keeping him and let me hold him. He was tiny and curling up to my hand for warmth.

I was asking some questions about him when I looked down, lo and behold, this King Snake did something that made me ultimately nostalgic and happy.

kingsnake

Pretzel has been reborn. :-)

i'm scared shitless, I have so much potential but I am scared to use it, I am afraid I won't achieve what I am capable of. I have limitless potential, no matter what I can do, I would succeed at it, and truthfully that scares me, throw me into any situation, I will adapt, teach me anything, I will learn it, that's a bit daunting. I am afraid of what I am truly capable of, it's a scary thought, I mean to have that much potential? Most people can achieve what they want with lots of hard work, for me, I don't need the hard work, it all comes to me naturally, I could teach, learn, work all that, and more, my mind never shuts off, always thinking of new ways to succeed, but that in the end scares me, I don't know what to do with it in the end, I'm scared I will succeed, and then fail, when you reach the top if you fall, it's a long fall, with nothing to break your fall.

Finally posting again.....yep, working on getting into shape again. My regime is going to start with me jogging for at least a half hour a day, 60 crunches, and 30 pushups, and slowly increase it. Plus I am going to join a gym and succeed in losing this weight I have packed on over the years. I have to kick this into high gear since I have to lose 30 pounds within 6 months, but in truth it's closer to 40 pounds, my family believes I am 210 when in reality i'm closer to 220. I need to get back down to around 180 or even lower, and muscular. That is my goal, not to have this damn gut anymore.

No longer working at the place I had a job at, I was temporary, just neither I nor them knew how temporary I would be. I leave them with experiance, and 4 fantastic references, plus they are helping me to find a new job. In the end, it can suck but at the same time, it's important for me. That's about all for now, can't think about anything else right now.

So my A+ teacher told me as I helped diagnose a network problem he would help me possibly get a job here at PC Professor.

Then In class 10 minutes later my teacher goes "Does anyone know why even if you use 2 programs that take about 400 megs of ram each, and you have 1 gig of ram on your system, your swap file will be used?

I open my mouth, and he goes "Not you, I know you already know the answer."

God bless the new teacher, basically telling me to shutup, w00t w00t! Am I a smartass? I think so.

DANGER: Your Daughter's MySpace Suitor Could Be Muslim Man in Mid-East

Printer Friendly

By Debbie Schlussel

If your under-aged daughter is on MySpace, your worries of sex-fiends targeting her shouldn't be confined to the continental U.S.

Take the story of 16-year-old Katherine Lester, who lives in Western Michigan. She was lured by a Muslim 25-year-old in Jordan, over MySpace. And she flew all the way to Jordan to meet him. The man, from Jericho, was probably Palestinian, as are most Jordanians.

Her mother is lucky that the U.S. law enforcement authorities were able to persuade her to return home. If she'd married the guy in a quickie Muslim wedding, her parents would be out of luck. And our "ally" King Abdullah wouldn't have done a thing to change that.

Shariah rules in Jordan, and long legal and diplomatic battles here have failed in a number of similar circumstances to return women and/or their children to the States.

Now, if you read the article, you can see clearly that it doesn't mention a muslim person at all, and also says she was heading to Tel Aviv. I mean hell I don't want to implicate jews for this since there are plenty of Arabs in Israel, but I am against the false spread of information. Yea, feel free to discuss.

By the way the link to her original post is http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2006/06/danger_your_dau.html

Been a fucking long ass time.

Well lets see, I moved into a new place, I went to Israel, and I got fired. That about sums it up, but I will go into details about such.

My lease ran up with my last place of residence, unfortunatly, but that's the breaks. I started searching for a new place. I didn't have any luck for quite some time, and then managed to find a place with a friend of mine.

That happened about 3 weeks before Israel. About 1 week after I moved in, I got fired, they were laying off a shitload of people, because some people stole, apparently I was a casualty of war. About a week after I got laid off, mid packing for Israel, and preparing, my hard drive lost my installation of windows, (fucking a) so I reached behind my desk to unplug the computer and replace the hard drive with a backup drive. As I reached behind the computer, my desk broke, dropping my 20 pound monitor onto my second desk layer, where I had a can of coke, and my keyboard. The monitor crashed onto the can of coke, and my keyboard, thus drenching both in coke, effectivly shorting the keyboard out. Then my monitor starts smoking, lovely, I blew something inside it.

So I had to go out and replace with Israel money, everything, new desk, monitor and keyboard mouse combo, which wasn't cheap last minute. I had about 1000 saved up for Israel, and when I was done, I had 500, which was also needed to pay rent when I got back. Considering I needed 400 or so for israel, I was effectively fucked, so I did what any college student would do, I mooched the parents and grantparent. Smart move, because I effectively got almost all the money back.

Then the Israel trip happened, and well I am definitly moving there, no if's and's or but's not scared at all. The trip was totally amazing, and everything is slowly blurring together into one awesome trip. Highlights of the trip include, Ro Shanikra, Tel Dan, Golan Heights, Western Wall, Masada, Tel Aviv and a few other places not as impacting. (Pictures will come as soon as I get a chance to edit down the 959 pictures/video's that I took.) The only downer to the trip was the fact that my suitcase got thrashed in Israel and I had to replace it. 70 bucks, w00t jewish bargaining skillz!

I came back from Israel to find my door SMASHED open, the whole doorframe was broken in. Apparently, when I left, I left hookah tobacco out in the open. (Stupid stupid move) it attracted cockroaches, so my roommate needed to get into my room. I keep a spare key to my room in relatively plain sight, on a light in the bathroom, sorta hanging. Easy to see. He couldn't find it, so he smashed my door in. (Lovely) Fortunatly my door was slightly cracked when I moved in, so he is claiming he leaned on my door and it broke. Besides that, my life has been going great, I am taking my computer certifications and everything, keeping myself afloat in any way I can also.

Sorry I've been absent, I hope to be around more now.

It's my birthday, and so far? It's been the best birthday EVER. My 21st birthday and I am not going to fall into the stereotype of going out, getting drunk and not remembering it. My pledge brother Kyle, came down from Philly, not originally for my birthday but to visit his grandparents. I got to turn 21 with one of the people who helped shape me into who I am today. I turned 21 in the company of friends, smoking a hookah, and just relaxing. Truthfully that's all that matters to me. I finished up my first 6 hours of being 21 by watching the sun rise, which was extremely relaxing for me. So yea, now I'm 21, but I don't feel any different.

So apparently there are 2 new vaccines for the prevention of HPV and thus cervical cancer, (at least that's what scientists theorize) that are going through FDA approval.

Now religious groups, aka catholic groupies (sorry to any catholics out there no offense meant) are boycotting these vaccines claiming they will promote promiscuity in youngsters. Yes, the reason why I waited till I was almost 19 to have sex was because I was scared of getting HPV. They hit the nail on the head there.

So a couple people have already heard this story, but I figure I'll tell it also here.

A couple nights ago I was downstairs in the Kitchen/Tv Room, watching tv and chatting online, it was about 2 am or so. My roommate came home and went upstairs. I continued to watch tv and chat online. All of a sudden I hear "QUACK" I pause, and snap my head to the side. I see a HIDEOUS duck inside the house. I see them all the time, it's warty and everything. It looks at me, and then goes "Quack" turns around, and walks right back out the front door. I was in shock and disbelief for obvious reasons. Turns out my roommate left the door WIDE open when she came home, I'm glad I was downstairs or else it might have been an issue.
